Tom carried out a feasibility study for the owners of an un-occupied retail unit in a small Nottinghamshire town. The former charity shop had been empty for over six months and the owners were keen to explore potential alternative uses for the unit. Having prepared several options to convert the shop into two flats, the proposal was submitted to the Council Planning Department for Pre-application Advice. The proposed new future-proofed front facade was design by ta Architecture to enable the unit to be easily converted back into a retail unit at a later date (subject to the necessary consents), which received a positive response from the Council. The retail unit is now occupied, but the scheme may be revisited in the future.
Thank you for visiting ta Architecture. Tom Allen is currently taking a more active role for his development company (Mellen Developments Ltd) and is therefore not taking on any new project enquiries at present.
